Reigning AL Cy Young Award winner Cliff Lee of the Cleveland Indians had the following reaction to his trade to the Philadelphia Phillies: ‘I’m going to miss the guys here. It’s an opportunity for me to help a team that’s in first place and is the defending world champion. As far as that goes, I’m excited.’

On adjusting to the National League: ‘I’m going to have to figure out how to get a bunt down more consistently. Other than that, it’s the same game.’

On what Indians fans might think about the team trading away Cy Young Award winners in consecutive years, first CC Sabathia and now Lee: ‘As a fan, it’s hard to feel good about that, honestly. Losing one Cy Young Award winner and another the next year is probably hard to swallow.’
