Dorsey standout defensive back Rahim Moore did not play against Fremont last Friday after injuring an Achilles’ tendon against Hamilton on Oct. 5.

The Dons (4-2, 1-0) beat Fremont, 20-14, in their Coliseum League opener, but Coach Paul Knox doesn’t want to roll those same dice this week at Crenshaw (2-4, 1-0).

‘I hope to have him back. We need to be at full strength to contend with them,’ Knox said of Crenshaw, adding he would know later in the week if Moore could play.

The Crenshaw-Dorsey contest, along with being a fierce rivalry, also features the league most successful teams of recent times. Crenshaw won the league title in 2002, Dorsey in 2003 and 2004, Crenshaw in 2005 and Dorsey in 2006.

Kickoff is 7 p.m. Friday at Crenshaw.
