Today, Glendora is like child on Christmas. They are happy, probably beyond happy, after beating Upland, 29-28, Friday night -- in overtime, no less -- to advance to the quarterfinals in the Inland Division. But, like the kid who unwraps a lump of coal instead of a brand-new PS3, the Tartans’ joy may soon turn to disappointment.

As a reward for their winning effort, Glendora will get to play the Time’s No. 1 team in the Southland, Corona Centennial, in the quarterfinals on Friday.

Cue the cheerleaders: Hey, Tartans, how do you feel?

Probably not too good. Coach Mark Pasquarella expressed his dislike for the seeding earlier in the week for the SGVT.

While Glendora has prided itself on the fact it has played great defense all season, it’s going to be near impossible to slow down a Huskies team that is averaging 46 points a game. Centennial’s go-to guy is running back Ryan Bass, whose 28 touchdowns (four against Mater Dei, when he rushed for 326 yards in the game) make him a candidate for player of the year honors.

Winning a playoff game was great, but finding out you have to play Centennial -- not so great.
