The second-rate, er, I mean Division II state bowl game between Oceanside and Novato got started. After jogging through my memory, I think this is the first San Diego Section team I’ve watched in 15 years. I was hoping to keep that streak going for another decade. Where’s Crespi, Orange Lutheran, Servite, Mater Dei?

If it wasn’t for this blog, I’d put my feet up on my dashboard and take a little siesta.

Martin Henderson is running down his list of highlights from his San Diego days. Still not interested.

Like I said, former Oceanside linebacker Junior Seau could dress out for this one and it wouldn’t make a difference.

The Pirates scored on its first possession, a 22-yard strike from Jordan Wynn to Frank Zimmerman. Can we just say the first one who scores, wins?

The crowd on the Oceanside side of the Home Depot Center is the biggest of the four crowds so far. Too bad they’re looking into the sun. At least they can just focus on one side of the field as I don’t think Novato will cross the 50-yard line today.
