Getting caught up on some of the happenings in girls’ basketball Saturday night.

The Los Osos girls’ basketball team defeated Montclair Prep, 59-41, to win the Burbank Burroughs tournament. Cierra Warren, a 6-3 junior center for the Grizzlies, had 36 points and 17 rebounds. She averaged 31.5 points for the four-day tournament.

Los Osos (7-1) hosts Riverside North in a nonleague game Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The Huskies got off to a hot start, winning their first seven games, but lost two of their last three. Amanda Frost, a junior shooting guard, averages a team-high 14.3 points for North.

Colony won the Rancho Verde tournament, scoring a 79-59 victory over Rialto. The Titans have a real strong 1-2 punch in senior guard Amani Butler and junior forward Camille Buckley. Butler scored 22 points in the title game and Buckley had 20, earning all-tournament honors.

Finally, in the championship game of the Temescal Canyon tournament, it was Norco defending its title with a 54-41 victory over Vista Murrieta.

Norco guard Kasey Philyaw was named tournament MVP. Philyaw, if you remember, set a Southern California regional tournament record last March by making five three-pointers in a loss to Brea Olinda in the championship game.
