Basketball: Drew, DeRozan shine at McDonald’s event

Point guard Larry Drew Jr. from Woodland Hills Taft won the three-point shooting contest, and guard DeMar DeRozan from Compton won the dunk contest at the McDonald’s All-American Game in Milwaukee.

Drew, the City Section player of the year who has signed with North Carolina, made four consecutive shots to pull out the victory against the top high school seniors in the nation.

DeRozan, who has signed with USC, dazzled everyone with his slams.

Drew and DeRozan are set to play for the West team in Wednesday’s game that will be televised at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN.
