The most remarkable accomplishment of USC Coach Pete Carroll isn’t all the victories the Trojans keep piling up. It’s how he continues to convince high school players to come to USC even though the positions are already loaded with talent.

D.J. Morgan of Taft, pictured left, is the latest running back to choose the Trojans. Only a junior, Morgan said he was not concerned about the competition at USC.

‘I just love the school,’ he said. ‘It’s been a dream to go there, and I wanted to make my dream come true. I’m not afraid to compete against other running backs.’

Asked what Carroll told him about the competition, Morgan said, ‘He just told me if I compete and work hard and show my ability, he’ll find a place for me on the field.’

The Trojans have also offered another all-star running back, junior Anthony Barr from Loyola. Carroll was at the Loyola-De La Salle game Saturday. The man will not quit stockpiling running backs.
