Boys’ basketball: 7-foot center stays at Paraclete

Mike VanKirk, a 7-foot junior center, has decided to stay at Lancaster Paraclete after playing basketball last summer for Santa Ana Mater Dei.
VanKirk’s father, Mike Sr., said housing issues prevented the transfer. VanKirk won’t be available until December because he’s scheduled to have hip surgery.
