The Los Angeles Unified School District, in association with the LA84 Foundation, has called a news conference for Thursday at Miguel Contreras High School to announce a fundraising drive to help the City Section sports program that is facing budget cutbacks.

Anita DeFrantz, president of the LA84 Foundation, has taken the lead in trying to prevent cutbacks scheduled for coaching stipends. She will introduce major donors.
