Sullivan Tears Up Knee in Gold’s Opener, May Be Sidelined for Season

Share

The opening game of the season was most likely the closing game of the season for Denver Gold safety Tom Sullivan of Northridge.

Sullivan underwent knee surgery Monday morning at a Denver hospital to repair torn ligaments and cartilage damage suffered in the team’s 31-10 United States Football League loss Sunday to Oakland.

Sullivan, who formerly played for Crespi High in Encino, will be out of action for a minimum of 2-3 months, not including time he’ll have to spend in physical therapy according to his father, John Sullivan, of Northridge.
