Lezak is investigating the “removal” of assets.

Calabasas-based Lezak Group said a “major portion” of the inventory of its garment-marketing subsidiary, Kennedy-Carter Corp., is missing and is believed to have been taken by unnamed Kennedy-Carter employees. Kennedy-Carter accounts for “more than half” of Lezak’s assets, company Vice President Mary Armstrong said. Phone calls to Kennedy-Carter were directed to the parent company. Armstrong said the goods were found to be missing Wednesday and that Lezak’s legal counsel, the Century City law firm of Robinson, Wolas & Diamant Inc., is handling the investigation. She said the company hasn’t determined whether it will press charges, how many employees were involved in the “removal” of the inventory or the value of the missing goods.
