VCR sales jumped 74% in January and February.

Manufacturers sold more than 1.65 million home videocassette recorders during the first two months of 1985, a 74% increase, the Electronics Industries Assn. reported. Sales of color video cameras also increased this year, by 13%, to 75,787 through February. More than 3 million color TV sets have been sold this year, the association’s figures show, although the total is down slightly from last year. Projection televisions also have enjoyed a sales surge this year, although the totals are small. The 34,831 sets sold mark a 30% increase over 1984.
