EECO Inc., a Santa Ana-based manufacturer of diversified electronic products, including computer systems for the hotel industry, named Robert C. Milo president and chief executive, effective May 1.

Burgess Dempster, who had been acting chief executive, remains as chairman.

Paul W. Wiedenmann, executive vice president of McDonnell Douglas Computer Systems Co. (formerly Microdata Corp.), based in Irvine, has been named a corporate vice president with responsibility for the financial affairs of McDonnell Douglas’ Information Systems Group. He will be succeeded by Vernon Z. Smith.

Arthur C. Nielsen Jr., former chairman and chief executive of A. C. Nielsen Co., has been elected a director of Businessland Inc., San Jose, a retail microcomputer and office-equipment chain.

Catalytica Associates Inc., Mountain View, named Richard Fleming president and chief executive. He succeeds James A. Cusumano, who becomes chairman after serving as president since the company’s founding in 1974.

Trust Co. of the West, Los Angeles, named Merlin E. Robertson senior vice president-client relations.

Tony Newnham was appointed vice president-client services at Los Angeles-based Robert McKim & Co., an advertising agency.

Mark N. Ricca has been named vice president-marketing for United Technologies Communications Co., Westlake Village.
