San Diego Roundup : Women’s Golf Meet Is Set for Fairbanks Ranch
Five San Diego women will compete in the $175,000 Kyocera golf tournament April 10-14 at Fairbanks Ranch. The group includes Sharon Barrett, Barbara Barrow, Jeannette Kohlhaas, Barbara Moxness and Debbie Skinner.
Among the top golfers entered are Patty Sheehan, Betsy King, JoAnne Carner and Julie Inkster.
The San Diego Figure Skating Club will hold its seventh Skate La Grande competition today through Sunday at the Mira Mesa House of Ice.
The participants are from California, Arizona, Oregon, Colorado and Texas. Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for children.
The annual Welcome Padres Luncheon will take place at noon on April 5 at the Town and Country Convention Center.
Manager Dick Williams, his coaches and players will attend. Tickets are $15 apiece and may be purchased at the Holiday Bowl office at San Diego Jack Murphy Stadium or the Kiwanis office, 1895 Camino del Rio South.
The sixth Times-Advocate Ace Cancer benefit tennis tournament will take place April 27-28 and May 4-5 at Tennis-Escondido on Bear Valley Parkway.
Entry fee is $15 for singles and $25 per doubles teams. There will be age-group competition for both men and women.
