A two-story wooden barn and workshop in the rural Glenview area of Topanga Canyon was destroyed by fire early Monday, causing $95,000 in damage, a Los Angeles County Fire Department spokeswoman said.
Firefighters were able to contain the blaze before it spread to the dry brush nearby.
The fire, in a brushy area of North West Trail, off Topanga Canyon Boulevard, began around 2:30 a.m. and was extinguished 45 minutes later by about 30 firefighters, the spokeswoman said.
There were no injuries and the cause had not yet been determined.
