Holdridge Leads Ocean View Team to Colt League World Series Title
David Holdridge knocked in two runs and scored twice to lead the Ocean View team of Huntington Beach to a 7-2 win over host Lafayette in Thursday’s championship game of the Colt League World Series.
Holdridge, also the starting pitcher, had three doubles in four at-bats, as every batter in the Ocean View starting lineup had at least one hit.
Both of Lafayette’s runs were unearned and the hosts failed to earn even a single hit.
Brent Knackert (1-0) picked up the win for Ocean View after relieving Holdridge in the second inning. Joe Walters (1-1) took the loss.
Taking third place in the double-elimination tournament for 15- and 16-year olds was Hoosier North, another Lafayette-area team, while fourth place went to Miami, Fla.
