The U.S. League of Savings Institutions said that 1.85% of Americans with home loans from a savings and loan had missed at least two payments, a slight rise from the June report. But the group said that delinquencies were still down significantly from the beginning of the year. Delinquencies were at a particularly low level--1.25%--for adjustable-rate loans taken out at the 900 savings institutions that the league surveyed. The delinquency rate for fixed-rate loans was 2.07%.
