Frank R. Light, who has guided Stockton-based Sun-Diamond Growers of California since its formation in 1980 through consolidation of Diamond Walnut Growers, Sun-Maid Growers and Sunsweet Growers, said he plans to retire as chief executive of the farmer-owned cooperative.
Sun-Diamond’s board organized a committee to seek a replacement for Light, who will continue as its head until a successor is picked.
Light joined Sun-Maid in 1973 as president, coming from Acme Fast Freight, where he was president and chief executive.
