San Diego
A 91-year-old San Diego man died, apparently of smoke inhalation, during a fire in his kitchen early Monday morning, San Diego fire officials reported.
William I. Rusche was found in his studio apartment in the 1200 block of 10th Avenue about 3:40 a.m. when the apartment building manager detected the fire, coroner’s deputies said.
The fire caused about $10,000 in damage, fire officials said.
