The FCC approved GE’s acquisition of RCA.

With the Federal Communications Commission’s 4-0 approval, there are no other major procedural roadblocks to consummation of the $6.28-billion merger, which includes RCA’s NBC network. The Justice Department has said it will not try to block the acquisition on antitrust grounds. The commission gave GE 18 months to sell radio stations in the New York, Washington and Chicago areas, where New York-based RCA holds TV licenses.
