Alan Arkin and Rutger Hauer portray inmates of a Nazi concentration camp in “Escape From Sobibor,” a three-hour movie that CBS will broadcast next season. It’s about the 1943 escape of more than 600 prisoners from a Nazi death camp in Poland. Arkin and Hauer play the architects of the plan.

Jack Paar is coming back. Not as host of “The Tonight Show,” obviously, but as host of his own hourlong special on NBC, “The Jack Paar Program.” On it he will show clips from his old programs, interspersed with what the network promises will be “fresh, amusing anecdotes.”

Now that he’s done with “Hardcastle & McCormick,” Brian Keith is involved in several new projects. He’ll be seen as Davy Crockett in a three-hour movie for NBC, “The Alamo: 13 Days to Glory,” and he’s appearing in a production for ABC’s “Disney Sunday Movie” called “The BRAT Patrol.” That one has him playing a general who isn’t interested in hearing from a group of kids who turn up evidence of improper activity on his base.

The Showtime cable channel is planning a series of original movies based on the popular Harlequin Romance novels. The first one to go before the cameras is “Love With a Perfect Stranger,” starring Marilu Henner and Daniel Massey. It’s due to be shown early next year.

The NBC soap opera “Search for Tomorrow” will celebrate its 35th anniversary Sept. 3. The show that day will consist of clips from past episodes, as recalled by characters Joanne Tourneur (Mary Stuart) and Stu Bergman (Larry Haines). . . . The serial also has its eye on the future, however. Actors David Forsyth, Jeff Meek and Jackie Schultz--who portray, respectively, Hogan McCleary, Quinn McCleary and Patty Whiting--will be traveling to Ireland in September to shoot segments that will air in November.
