Fashion Factor

I’m always entertained by business journalists who lack fundamental knowledge of an industry they’re writing about. To wit: John F. Lawrence and women’s clothes.

One principal factor in the higher costs of women’s clothes is the greater fashion factor, which translates into more of the merchandise being sold at deep discount when it is no longer in fashion. Men being less style conscious change styles at a much slower pace.
