1 Hurt as Truck Hits Plane’s Wing
A truck being driven along a ramp at John Wayne Airport struck the tip of a private jet’s wing Friday night, shattering the truck’s windshield and injuring its driver, the Orange County Fire Department reported.
The driver was identified by a Fire Department spokesman at the scene as Dave Hernandez, 27, of Westminster, an employee of Martin Aviation. The extent of his injuries was not immediately known. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
A Fire Department spokeswoman said the plane’s wing tip was damaged.
