The United States, fresh off an upset victory over host Czechoslovakia, defeated Poland, 15-2, in the eight-nation World Junior Ice Hockey Championships in Prague. Scott Young and Bob Corum each scored three goals and Mike Posma added two as the Americans dominated Poland, making its debut in the tournament for players under 20 years old.
