An Orange County judge ordered an insurance company to continue liability coverage for Taylor Bus Service Inc., avoiding a crisis that could have forced 100 California school districts to find new bus service. Judge Gary L. Taylor cited “a matter of public safety” in issuing a preliminary injunction making Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. honor its contract through next September. The Anaheim-based bus company, whose customers include the Los Angeles Unified School District, filed suit against the insurer when told its coverage was being canceled.
