BOYS BASKETBALL

Fairfax 85, Kennedy 62--Three players scored 20 or more points for Fairfax in the Valley League game. Chris Mills and J.D. Green scored 24 each, and Sean Higgins added 20 for Fairfax (15-0, 6-0). Marcus Malone had 20 points for Kennedy (9-5, 2-2).

Cleveland 72, El Camino Real 58--Cleveland (12-2, 5-1) was behind, 44-43, at the end of the third quarter but outscored El Camino Real, 29-14, in the fourth quarter. Cleveland’s Michael Gray had 20 points and Richard Branham scored 12 with 11 rebounds. Sean Davis finished with 18 points. ECR is 5-9, 1-5.

San Fernando 84, Canoga Park 74--Tory Stephens scored 20 points for San Fernando (9-6, 3-1) in the Northwest Valley League game. Oroy Elrington scored 21 for Canoga Park (2-2 in league).

North Hollywood 64, Sylmar 33--Peter Nappi scored 14 points and had 10 rebounds for North Hollywood (8-6, 3-1). David Baker had 10 points for Sylmar (0-10, 0-4).

Chatsworth 75, Monroe 64--Kendall McDaniels scored 24 points and had 14 rebounds for Chatsworth (5-7, 1-3) in a Northwest Valley League game.

Reseda 83, Hamilton 69--Robert Stepner had 26 points for Reseda (5-8, 1-5) in a West Valley League game. Stephen Green had 17 points for Hamilton (1-5, 1-11).

Van Nuys 59, Verdugo Hills 44--Rashe Dorsey led Van Nuys (5-8, 2-2) with 16 points in the East Valley League game. Verdugo Hills (2-2 in league) was led by Bill Willingham with 9 points.

Bell-Jeff 61, Harvard 55--Mike Dourisboure scored 18 points for Bell-Jeff (9-6, 4-2) in the Sante Fe League game. Andy Bell led Harvard (10-4, 6-1) with 21 points.

Royal 40, Channel Islands 32--Aaron Pugh scored 10 points to lead Royal (1-14, 1-5) to a Marmonte League win. Channel Islands was led by Victor Caro and Gerald Boyd, each with 11 points.

Oak Park 85, Moorpark 56--Oak Park (5-8, 2-3) scored 30 points in the second quarter to keep Moorpark winless in the Tri-Valley League. Mike Birch scored 32 points for Oak Park (5-8, 2-3).

Poly 55, Grant 45--Jorge Ramos scored 16 points to lead Poly in a East Valley League game at Grant. Mike Parker had 12 points for Grant (8-7, 3-1).

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Kennedy 70, Granada Hills 28 -- Diane DeCree scored 20 points and had 22 rebounds to lead Kennedy (12-3, 4-0) in the Valley League game at home. Kennedy’s Yolanda Lewis and Tisa Rush each scored 16 points.

El Camino Real 53, Chatsworth 41--Melissa Guidi scored 20 points to pace El Camino Real (7-5, 3-1) in a Valley League game at home. Valerie Arst scored 11 points for Chatsworth (8-3, 2-2).

Reseda 58, Grant 50--Senior forward Dana Jones had game-high totals of 25 points and 14 rebounds as Reseda (7-1, 3-1) won its second straight West Valley League game.

Canoga Park 42, Taft 34--Julie Burmester scored 16 points to lead Canoga Park (4-8, 2-2) in a Valley League game at home.

Monroe 59, Sylmar 32--Monroe (4-3, 3-1) led 17-2 at the end of the first quarter and went on to win the Pac-6 League game. Sylmar (4-4, 3-1) was led by Keri Rincon with 10 points.

Holy Martyrs 69, Bel-Air Prep 30--Ayline Amirayan scored 29 points as Holy Martyrs (9-2, 2-1) won the nonleague game.

San Fernando 59, Verdugo Hills 26--Tasha Wheeler and Beatrice Pleitez scored 12 points each as San Fernando (4-4, 4-0) won its fourth straight Pac-6 League game.

BOYS SOCCER

La Salle 1, Harvard 0--Jorge Garbey scored the winning goal with one minute remaining to give La Salle (6-0 in league) a Sante Fe League victory. Harvard dropped to 3-3

Chaminade 7, Bell-Jeff 0--Seven players scored for Chaminade (7-7, 4-2) in the Sante Fe League game at Chaminade.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Valley 55, Mt. San Jacinto 30--Maryjoe Testa scored 16 points for Valley (16-3, 4-0) in the Southern California Conference game at Mt. San Jacinto. Dametra Johnson, Jeannie Washington and Lenise Collins each had 12 points for Valley as it maintained first place in the conference. Karen Waring had nine points for Mt. San Jacinto.
