The Sockers, 1986 Major Indoor Soccer League champion, and San Diego State’s football team, the 1986 Western Athletic Conference champion, will be honored at the 41st annual Salute to the Champions Dinner Wednesday at the Town and Country Convention Center.

Brian Sipe, former San Diego State quarterback, and Sid Gillman and Don Coryell, former Charger coaches, will be inducted Wednesday into the Brietbard Hall of Fame.

Also to be honored are Padre outfielder Tony Gwynn, professional Star of the Year; javelin thrower Tom Petranoff, amateur Star of the Year; the 1986 Stars of the Month, and the 1986 Prep Athletes of the Month.
