Pacific 10 Golf : Silveira Leads Arizona to Title
Arizona junior Larry Silveira had four birdies on the last six holes Wednesday to lead the Wildcats to the Pacific 10 golf championship.
Arizona, which trailed UCLA by three shots heading into the final day, finished with a four-day total of 1,463 strokes.
UCLA and Arizona State tied for second place at 1,465, followed by host Oregon at 1,491.
Silveira shot his second straight two-under-par 70 to earn medalist honors in the 72-hole event.
Silveira’s 289 total was one stroke better than Arizona State’s Jim Strickland and UCLA’s David Rhorer.
