Hollywood Park : Favored Tasso and Metronomic Finish in a Dead Heat in Feature
Favored Tasso and Metronomic finished in a dead heat for first place after a three-horse driving finish Thursday in the $45,000 feature race at Hollywood Park.
Tasso, ridden by Laffit Pincay, and Metronomic, ridden by Bill Shoemaker, were a head in front of Southern Halo, ridden by Chris McCarron, in a field of six horses.
The winning time for the mile was 1:35.
Metronomic was a pace factor from the outset of the race and held on gamely to finish tied for first place. Tasso came into the stretch four horses wide and made up nearly three lengths in the final furlong of the race.
Sent off the 13-10 favorite, Tasso paid $2.80, $3 and $2.20, and Metronomic returned $3.60, $3.60 and $2.60. Southern Halo paid $2.60 to show.
