Acting Head of UCSB Has Surgery
The acting chancellor at the University of California, Santa Barbara, is recovering from surgery for a malignant tumor in his colon, officials said Friday.
Daniel G. Aldrich Jr., 68, was in stable condition after the three-hour operation Thursday night, a nursing supervisor at Cottage Hospital said Friday.
University spokeswoman Margaret Weeks said Aldrich was admitted to the hospital with a malignant tumor after becoming ill early Monday at the chancellor’s campus residence. She said he was in good condition and good spirits Friday.
