The ever-popular Perry Mason helped NBC win another victory in ratings released Wednesday by the A.C. Nielsen Co. Sunday night’s NBC movie, “Perry Mason: The Case of the Sinister Spirit,” was the week’s highest-rated non-series program, placing third behind perennial leaders “The Cosby Show” and “Family Ties.” Completing the top 10 list were “Growing Pains,” “Cheers,” “Who’s the Boss?,” “Golden Girls,” “Roses Are for the Rich” (conclusion), “Poker Alice” and “Night Court.” The premiere of a new NBC series, “The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd,” was 14th. NBC’s average rating for the week was 13.8, to 12.7 for CBS and 11.5 for ABC. At the other end of the chart, “Hill Street Blues,” once one of NBC’s mighty, was No. 61 out of 65 shows listed. It was followed by “Our World,” “Starman,” “West 57th” and “Jack and Mike.” (The complete Nielsen list appears on Page 11.)
