Tardeada Planned to Raise Funds for Candia Scholarship
The Candia Scholarship Foundation of Compton, which has awarded nearly 30 scholarships totaling more than $6,000 to qualifying Mexican-American students, will hold a tardeada --a late afternoon dinner social--from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday at Progress Park Plaza, 15500 Downey Ave.
Music and folkloric entertainment will be provided by Corazon de Mexico , and a Mexican barbacoa dinner will be served. Scholarship presentations to eight honorees will follow and the evening will close with music and dancing.
The cost is $15, with proceeds to benefit the scholarship fund. Reservations may be made by calling (213) 635-9047.
