COMMENCEMENT 1987 : GOLDEN WEST COLLEGE
Golden West College in Huntington Beach held its 21st annual commencement ceremony Wednesday night in the campus quad. The ceremony marked the end of the college’s 20th year celebration, and there were two special awards: Martin (Pop) Mulder received a posthumous award in appreciation of many voluntary services on behalf of the college. Earnest (Chip) Marchbank of the athletic division was recognized as an outstanding member of the staff.
Degrees: 455 associate in arts.
Speakers: Robin Matthews, instructor in humanities and music and an alumnus of Golden West College, delivered the commencement address, entitled “Generalizing in the Age of Specialization.”
