All Air Midwest Planes to Be in Service Monday
Air Midwest, which grounded one-third of its fleet of Fairchild Metro IIs for maintenance work requested by the Federal Aviation Administration, will have all the planes back in service by Monday, an airline spokesman said Saturday.
The airline, which serves 60 airports in 15 states, grounded 18 of its 54 17-seat turboprop planes and canceled 20% of its flights Friday, but some of the planes were back in service Saturday, he said.
The planes were removed from service because the FAA told the airline it could no longer delay certain repairs.
