Thomases Lead Taft to 59-54 Basketball Win

Point guard Dedan Thomas scored 14 points and forward Keith Thomas added 12 to lead Taft High to a 59-54 win over Dominguez in a summer-league game Wednesday at Culver City High. The Thomases are not related.

Donte McFrazier added 10 for Taft, which lost 6-4 guard Tony Moten in the first minute of the game. Moten suffered a sprained ankle and his status is uncertain for Saturday’s game against Crenshaw in the L.A. Games.

Also at Culver City, El Camino Real defeated Redondo, 50-45, with Damon Orlando (26) and Corey Thurmond (12) combining for 38 of the Conquistadores’ 50 points.
