Hamburger Hamlets to Get Windfall From Lawsuit

Share

Hamburger Hamlets in Sherman Oaks will receive a $900,000 out-of-court settlement of a lawsuit that probably will double the company’s annual income.

Terms of the settlement prevent Paul Brockman, chief financial officer, from identifying or discussing the party that settled the case. The lawsuit is not disclosed in publicly filed documents because Hamburger Hamlets was the plaintiff.

Brockman said the $900,000 settlement should double the company’s earnings in the fiscal year ending March 31, 1988. Earnings for the fiscal year ended March, 1987, totaled $508,751. Brockman said the company will invest the settlement revenue or use it to reduce the company’s debt.
