Puente Boxes Garcia in Main Event at Irvine
Former California super-featherweight champion Greg Puente will fight Rocky Garcia tonight in the main event of the monthly boxing program at the Irvine Marriott Hotel.
Puente (8-3-4) of El Monte lost his title to Ramon Marchena in May. He had also lost a non-title fight to Marchena in February. Garcia (27-7-2) of Placentia knocked out Cesar Zepada in the second round in June.
Richard Aguirre of Covina will fight Cliff Jackson of San Diego at 155 pounds in the semi-main event.
The first of six scheduled bouts is set for 7:30 p.m.
