A jury acquitted Brian (Spinner) Spencer, former National Hockey League player, of kidnaping and murder in the death of a real estate agent more than five years ago in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Spencer, 38, had been charged in the Feb. 4, 1982, death of escort service client Michael James Dalfo, 29, who paid for sex with a call girl living with Spencer at the time.

Spencer played with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Buffalo Sabres, New York Islanders and Pittsburgh Penguins in a 10-year career that ended in 1979-80. He moved to Florida after retiring and has worked as an electrical mechanic.
