Outage Affects 800 Users in Studio City
About 800 residences and businesses in Studio City were without electricity Friday after tree limbs fell on power lines near the corner of Valleyheart Drive and Wilkinson Avenue, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power reported.
Power went out at 6:30 p.m. and was restored to 600 customers in an hour and to the rest by 9 p.m., said DWP spokesman Ed Freudenburg.
Private homes and restaurants were affected in an area bounded by Moorpark Street to the north, Whitsett Avenue to the east, Ventura Boulevard to the south and Coldwater Canyon Avenue to the west, he said.
Freudenburg said the tree limbs apparently had been damaged in Thursday’s storm.
