Santa Socked--Listener Didn’t Like Ringing Bell

The Christmas spirit apparently has yet to reach a young man charged with hitting a volunteer Santa Claus for ringing his bell at the city’s main bus station.

David Gonzalez, 25, was arrested last week on assault charges after attacking Steven Glazer, who was collecting donations for Volunteers of America at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in mid-town Manhattan, Port Authority Police Officer Richard Ruiz said.

Ruiz said Gonzalez “got very irritated by the bell because he couldn’t sleep on the floor anymore, with the noise of the bell. He got up and more or less told Santa Claus to stop ringing the bell.”
