Local News in Brief : Identity of Victim Sought in Fiery Crash
Los Angeles police were attempting Thursday to identify a man killed when the car he was driving crashed into a fence near Lake View Terrace and exploded in flames.
The man, believed to be in his mid 30s, was driving a car with a New Jersey license plate east on Paxton Street about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday when it hit the fence of a landfill at Lopez Canyon Road.
The car burst into flames, and the driver was burned beyond identification. Police said the car was also extensively damaged but appeared to have been a Ford Escort.
