St. Joseph’s Beats Northern Kentucky in Five-Overtime Women’s Game, 131-130

Jeannette Yeoman scored 50 points, including the decisive shot with seven seconds left in the fifth overtime Saturday, and St. Joseph’s (Ind.) beat Northern Kentucky, 131-130, setting an National Collegiate Athletic Assn. Division II women’s basketball record for scoring by two teams.

The score was tied, 77-77, at the end of regulation play, 89-89, after the first overtime, 94-94 after the second, 108-108, following the third, and, 120-120, after the fourth overtime.

The 261 points broke the record of 217 in Tuskegee’s 115-102 victory over Fort Valley State on Feb. 13, 1982.

Tracy Payne added 29 points for St. Joseph’s. Linda Honigford scored 32 points for Northern Kentucky.
