Agoura 6, Oak Park 5--The score in the season-opening nonleague game was tied after seven innings, but Lisa Little scored the winning run in the eighth on a bloop single by Wendy Baertschilger.

Cate 8, Simi Lutheran 6--Simi Lutheran committed 5 errors as Cate scored 8 unearned runs in nonleague play. Christy Tefteller went 3 for 3 and had 2 RBIs for Simi Lutheran.

VOLLEYBALL

Campbell Hall d. Pilgrim, 15-5, 18-16, 15-3--Sophomore outside hitter Don White had a team-high 8 kills as Campbell Hall won the nonleague match at home.

Campbell Hall (2-1) also got 6 kills and 2 service aces from senior middle blocker Tim Sutton, and junior setter David Kim had 18 assists.

Crespi d. Daniel Murphy 15-1, 15-13, 6-15, 15-7--Crespi’s Ken Lynch had 11 kills and Steve Lepire had 10 in the nonleague match at Crespi. Lynch, a junior middle blocker, also had 6 blocks.

Crespi (3-0) jumped out to a 14-0 lead before Daniel Murphy scored its only point in the first game, and Crespi took a 12-4 lead in the final game of the match.

BOYS’ SWIMMING

Westlake 98, Ventura 73--Westlake’s Tim Barber, Robert Yew, Steve Lai and Sean McDonald teamed to finish first with a time of 1:52.28 in the 200-medley relay.

Lai also won the 200-individual medley (2:09.16) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.49). Barber won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:03.21.

Rob Douglas won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:35.11.

GIRLS’ SWIMMING

Westlake 120, Ventura 48--Westlake had three triple winners. In the 400-freestyle relay, Shauna MacEwen, Tracy Thorp, Kathy Bugg and Courtney Lowe won with a time of 4:04.22.

MacEwen also won the 100-yard butterfly (1:03.02) and the 100-yard backstroke (1:09.65).

Bugg won the 200-yard freestyle (2:03.85) and the 100-yard freestyle (57:45). Lowe won the 200-individual medley (2:16.26) and the 500-freestyle (5:34.39).

BOYS’ TENNIS

Westlake 15, Agoura 3--The Westlake doubles team of Jeff Walendy and Mark Kapczynski routed all three of the Agoura teams they played to lead the Warriors to a nonleague victory at Westlake Village Racquet Club.

Walendy and Kapczynski, Westlake’s No. 1 doubles team, defeated all three of their opponents by scores of 6-1.
