Local News in Brief : Fountain Valley : $900 Taken in Robbery of S & L; No One Hurt
An armed robber, disguised in a brown Afro wig and sunglasses, took more than $900 Monday from the Empire of America Savings & Loan in Fountain Valley, police said.
Tellers said the bandit had a heavy mustache, is in his late 20s or early 30s and about 6 feet tall, Police Lt. Rod Gillman said.
Gillman said that at 1:13 p.m., after standing in line, the robber approached a teller and opened a cardboard folder, from which he pulled a 4-inch, blue-steel revolver and said, “Give me all your money.”
The teller complied, then the bandit stuffed the money in the folder and walked out.
