Four Fool Guards With Dummies, Flee Arkansas Prison

TUCKER, Ark. —
Four inmates, including two convicted murderers, fooled prison guards by putting dummies made from stuffed long underwear in their cots and escaped overnight from a state prison in central Arkansas, officials said Tuesday.
The escape from the prison’s maximum-security unit was discovered at 7 a.m., prison spokesman David White said.
White said bed checks are conducted about every four hours, and the dummies were counted at least twice during the night.
