West Covina : Loud Parties May Cost Hosts
Rowdy revelers in West Covina may end up paying more for their fun if the police have to come to quiet things down.
The City Council, responding to a request by Police Chief Craig Meacham, unanimously passed an ordinance allowing police to charge fees for breaking up parties. It will come up for formal adoption at the council’s September meeting.
“It is hoped that by letting (party hosts) know it could cost them, it will get them to take care of their own party,” police Cmdr. Ron Holmes said.
Police, responding to a first call, will warn the revelers that a second call will cost them, Holmes said. The amount of the fee has yet to be determined.
