Compton First Lady Must Pay
Martha Tucker, wife of Compton Mayor Walter R. Tucker, was ordered today to pay $300,000 in restitution to 10 people she allegedly swindled in real-estate transactions.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Gordon Ringer ordered Tucker to repay the money with interest as part of an agreement with prosecutors in which she pleaded no contest to three counts of grand theft on July 28. Ringer also sentenced Tucker to six years probation and ordered her to make restitution in monthly installments of $100 with 10% interest on the unpaid balance. Fifteen other felony counts against Compton’s first lady, including forgery and embezzlement, were dismissed.
