An Orange County contractor is demanding satisfaction from Mick Jagger. Encon Environmental Conservation of Newport Beach claims in a suit filed in U.S. District Court in Santa Ana last week that it was shortchanged $10,000 for building a waterfall for the lead singer of the Rolling Stones. The suit demands full payment for the waterfall and stream, which the suit states was built at the singer’s Caribbean retreat. According to the lawsuit, Encon was hired in 1986 and finished the project on the tiny island of Mustique by May, 1987. Jagger paid $27,000 in advance, but allegedly balked at making an additional payment of more than $10,000. Jagger could not immediately be reached for comment. The suit demands that an outstanding balance of $10,065.79 be paid as well as interest on that amount and unspecified punitive damages.
