La Puente Retiree Named to County Schools Position
Max Ragland, 69, of La Puente has been appointed to the Los Angeles County Board of Education.
Ragland, who retired as assistant superintendent of business after 31 years with the Hacienda La Puente Unified School District, was appointed to the 7-member board by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors. He was installed last month.
A graduate of La Puente High School, Ragland was a member of the La Puente City Council for 21 years and served as mayor of the community.
He is also a past chairman of the La Puente Planning Commission.
Ragland replaced Mary E. Lewis on the board.
