Litton Industries Inc.’s first-quarter profit was up 7.4% from a year ago to $43.6 million. The Beverly Hills-based defense industry contractor and maker of industrial automation systems said revenue rose 2.7% to $1.23 billion. The gains were attributed to higher income from marine engineering and production and industrial systems and services.
